Are You a Colorado Public School Employee Thinking About Buying a Home?

Could a special homebuying program help make purchasing a home more attainable for you and your family?

Eligible employees of participating Colorado public schools may have another option to explore through the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).

CHFA’s Schools to Home Program offers eligible, full-time employees of participating Colorado public schools and organizations down payment and/or closing-cost assistance through a second mortgage of up to 25% of the first mortgage amount. The program is not limited to teachers, although eligibility requirements apply.

The assistance is repayable and includes a shared-appreciation feature, meaning it’s important for prospective homebuyers to understand the program’s terms, repayment requirements, and potential costs before deciding whether it fits their financial goals.

Understanding Your Homebuying Options

For school employees considering homeownership, learning about available assistance programs can be a helpful first step. Understanding the requirements, exploring financing options, and determining a realistic budget can help buyers feel more prepared to navigate the process.

Ana Contreras, REALTOR® with CORE Home Team at HomeSmart, can help prospective buyers explore their homeownership goals, discuss their timeline, and connect with a participating lender who can explain the program’s eligibility requirements and financing details.

From beginning the home search to navigating offers and next steps, Ana provides personalized guidance and clear communication throughout the buying process. While a participating lender determines eligibility and explains the loan terms, Ana can help buyers make connections and understand the steps involved in moving toward homeownership.

Ready to explore your options? Contact Ana Contreras to get started and learn more about navigating the homebuying process.
