💬 Navigating Childhood in a Changing World

In an era when social media, artificial intelligence, and rapidly evolving social dynamics are reshaping childhood, parents and educators face new challenges in building trust and maintaining meaningful connections with young people.

Why do children sometimes pull away from the adults who care about them most? And what can we do differently to keep those connections strong?

Wiseman's presentation will explore these questions while offering practical, research-informed strategies to help adults communicate more effectively with the young people in their lives.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Recognize how their own experiences and assumptions influence communication with their children.
  • Better understand how young people navigate friendships, social pressures, social media, and artificial intelligence.
  • Identify common, well-intentioned responses that unintentionally shut down conversations.
  • Build trust and replace communication breakdowns with meaningful dialogue.
  • Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and other influential adults to create a consistent culture of dignity and respect.
